Music and dance form an inseparable part of the lives of the people of Himachal Pradesh. On every festival and auspicious occasion, be it the arrival of seasons, birth of a child or a wedding, the locals are seen celebrating by performing varied folk dance & music forms.

Traditional Dance Culture :-

In each and every part of India you can see different dance forms and there different cultures. The traditional dances of Himachal Pradesh are very complicated . It reflects the culture and the tradition of Himachal. Nati is the most famous dance of Himachal Pradesh. Dev Nati is a traditional folk dance practiced in the Western and Central Hills of the Indian subcontinent. It is primarily native to the states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand(Jaunsar Bawar Area). Nati, an intriguing dance form belonging to north India was officially listed as the "largest folk dance in the world"


The most popular folk dance in Himachal Pradesh is Nati that originated in Sirmaur District. This dance form holds a record in Guinness Book of World Record as the largest folk dance. Other than this, Bilaspuri Giddha and Kangra’s Jhamakhra are also quite popular in Himachal.
